Sjung hem dem!

Jag har upptäckt att jag oavsiktligt startat en liten vana eller tradition av att bjuda på en sång eller dikt här på fredagar. Kan gärna göra det till en medveten och avsiktlig vana, tänkte jag, för sämre sätt att avsluta veckan finns det ju.

Idag gör jag det jag tänkte göra förra fredagen och bjuder på en NY sång av Billy Bragg. Det blir Sing their souls back home från skivan Mr. Love & Justice (2008).

Så sant som det är sagt. hur kan det vara att stötta sina soldater (support our troups, som jänkarna kallar't) att vilja att de dödar och dödas i meningslösa strider, för mål som antingen inte KAN uppnås på det sättet (inget krig i världen kommer någonsin att göra slut på terrorismen, snarare har det motsatt verkan), eller som inte är värda spill av människoliv (kontrollen över oljan).

Här i soloversion (Mr Love & Justice har getts ut som dubbel-CD, där de båda skivorna innehåller samma låtar, men på den ena med hela bandet, och på den andra med Billy Bragg solo och på enbart gitarr).
